Robert A. Boudrie - Area 7 Director Candidate

Contributions I've made to our sport:

Web Site - I created and maintain the official USPSA web site. I proposed this project to the USPSA president back in 1995, well before the Internet became a popular phenomena. Then President Andy Hollar has estimated that the services I donated "would have easily cost between $50,000 and $100,000" in an e-mail he send the board of directors in September, 1999.
AWARE Invitational - I was the business manager and prize coordinator of the AWARE Invidational from 1993 to 1996. During that time, I grew this event from a local match with under 100 shooters to a major championship.
Internet IPSC Discussion List - I created the unofficial IPSC mailing list (ipsc@shooters.com) over 5 years ago. I established this Internet e-mail list so that individuals involved in the sport who were not officials of USPSA or IPSC would have a mechanism for effective mass communication.
Free Web hosting - I negotiated donation of web hosting services to USPSA, saving our organization thousands of dollars each year.
Local Match Contribution - I regularly contribute to matches at the local level. A couple of years ago, New England shooters were faced with the prospect of no local winter matches, since all the indoor clubs in the locality had stopped running local matches. I proposed that each local club offer to run a monthly match at a local club which has the facilities, but not the necessary staff, to host events. Our section was able to arrange a regular winter match series, now in its third year.
Recruitment - I have turned the USPSA web page into an effective recruiting tool. Our on-line inquiry system generates dozens of prospects each week, and the secure transaction processing system has been used by over 1000 new USPSA members.
Technical Advisor - I have served on the committee of technical advisors assisting USPSA Headquarters with computer hardware, software and service evaluations.
