I am conducting a survey of USPSA Area 7 members via the internet, using a "validation code" being sent to each Area 7 member via post card on July 10, 2003. Responses will be accepted until August 18, 2003.
The survey may be found at www.uspsa.org/a7_survey
The post card you will be receiving will contain a unique 9 digit validation code which will enable to to complete the survey. The validation code will not be used to match answers to individuals by name. It is being used to assure that only Area 7 members respond to this survey, and that each member's response is only counted once. Without such precautions, and internet based survey is meaningless.
I would have liked to conduct this via mail as well, however, printing, mailing and postage costs are cost-prohibitive. The printing and mailing of the post cards with the validation codes cost USPSA $230.47 - full printed surveys, with return envelopes, would cost considerably more. Since we are not tracking code numbers to individuals by name, I will not be able to provide replacements for lost codes or postcards (except those returned by the postal service as undeliverable)
I hope to convice the USPSA board to use this technique to conduct a similar survey on a national basis. My chances of success in the endeavor will be greately increased if we see a good response rate to this survey.
I ask each member in Area 7 to complete this survey and let your opinions be counted. Thank you for taking your time to complete the survey.
