2004 Area 7 Championship
The 2004 Area 7 Championship will be held June 11-13, 2004.
I regret the difficulties this will create for individuals wishing to
shoot both the match and the 2004 Virginia Summer Classic. The
overlap was unaviodable given range and staffing constraints. If you
are interested in entering both matches, the VA Summer Blast match
director and Area 7 Match Director will work to provide squadding to
make this possible. If you need any special assistance in this area,
please include a note in the registration form you send to both
matches.
Area 7 Championship Details
A few details:
-
We expect that registration will be available on or before
February 1, 2004, possibly earlier.
- The match fee $100. There will be little or no emphasis on
prizes.
- The match fee includes a shirt.
- Staff working the entire match are entitled to shoot
for free, but only in the Friday Range Officer/Staff slots.
- We will be using Palm scoring for near-instant results. We have
proved this process at the 2003 Area 7 Championship and at the 2003
Infinity Open.
- Competitors will have until Midnight on Friday, June 18 to bring
any corrections to stats attention via telephone, fax or email, so
that persons who complete the match prior to Sunday afternoon do
not have to wait around to check their scores.
A new approach to squadding
We will be using a new and unique approach to squadding this
year - web based "Self Service Squadding".
-
Match registration will send a confirmation letter upon reciept of
your paid registration. A personal registration password will be
included in this letter. Please don't ask us to send your code
prior to payment, as we are comitted to treating everyone in an
identical manner. Lost codes may be replaced by sending a SASE
to the registration address.
-
You will then be able to visit the USPSA site (specific instructions
will be included in your confirmation letter) and will be able to use
this password to select your squad assignment on-line. You will be
able to see all current squad selections, and may place yourself in
any squad which has room. You will be free to move yourself to any
squad which has an opening up until about 2 days before the match at
which point we will "freeze" the squads.
-
The only exception to this squadding process will be shooters
who are confirmed as having paid for both the 2004 Area 7 Championship
and VA Summer Blast, and match staff who will automatically be
assigned a Friday shoot time. If you are shooting the A7 and VA
Summer Blast and are not able to obain squadding on-line which works
with your travel schedule, please contact Rob Boudrie for assistance
with Area 7 Squadding after both matches have received your
paid registration.
-
USPSA will be making be making the self-service squadding system
available free of charge to affiliated major matches sometime
in 2004.
